How Do I Know if I Need a Lawyer?
If you’re under investigation, arrested and charged with a crime or find yourself involved in a criminal case, you may benefit from the representation of a criminal defense lawyer who can work to protect your interests and your freedom.
When you hire an attorney early in the process, you can minimize any damaging statements (or actions), while maximizing your chances of avoiding a lengthy legal process. Generally, the sooner your attorney gets involved, the better the outcome of the case and the faster the matter can be resolved. This is especially true for individuals who have not yet been criminally charged. There are many situations where a person tries to speak with police, believing that if they’re forthcoming, they can resolve the matter. In fact, they often exacerbate the situation by making remarks that may be incriminating (or misconstrued as incriminating.) So it’s best to consult an attorney and have a lawyer present when dealing with the authorities.
Your legal fees will be calculated based upon the nature of your case and the amount of time and effort required to bring your case to a resolution. Your initial consultation session is free and totally confidential.
